FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHY DO YOU ADVISE 'MIX ME BEFORE USE'?
Sometimes a jar will have visible separation (a layer of oil on top). We could avoid this if we added tonnes of preservatives - but no need. Just get in there with a fork and give the nut butter a proper twist and shout. That'll sort it out.
WHY IS NUTCESSITY NUT BUTTER SOMETIMES RUNNY; SOMETIMES SOLID?
This depends on the temperature. A warm room will melt the natural coconut oils, whilst a ski slope will keep them solid - I'd suggest you keep it at room temperature if possible.
HOW DO YOU PACKAGE THE JARS WHEN POSTING?
In used bubble wrap and used cardboard boxes... so there may be random writing / logos present...
DO YOUR PRODUCTS HAVE A SHELF LIFE?
Nutcessity nut butter will keep easily for 9 months from the date of production. Once opened, it's best used within 3 months.
HOW SHOULD I STORE YOUR NUT BUTTER?
At room temperature, out of direct sunlight. This protects the jar and keeps the nut butter at a sure-fire spreadable & edible temperature. No need for the fridge.
ARE THEY GLUTEN-FREE?
Yes - although Nutcessity's kitchen isn't accredited gluten-free.
DO YOUR NUT BUTTERS CONTAIN ANY GENETICALLY MODIFIED INGREDIENTS?
AM I SAFE TO EAT YOUR PRODUCTS IF I HAVE A PEANUT ALLERGY?
Yes - Nutcessity's kitchen is entirely peanut-free, although not accredited peanut-free.
DO YOUR NUT SPREADS CONTAIN PALM OIL?
No palm oil added, no oil added at all in fact.
WHY DO YOU USE PINK HIMALAYAN SALT?
This unrefined crystal salt contains the full complement of 84 minerals and trace elements the body needs in colloidal form, so they're easy to absorb.
The fruit of this evergreen shrub is called the pod (similar in appearance to a broad bean pod) which is dried, roasted, then ground into a light brown powder. It's used in food as an alternate to cacao - similar in appearance, but without the caffeine or bitterness. The organic Carob Nutcessity uses is from Italy and has an earthy, natural sweetness, plus calcium, fibre & vitamins.
PEANUTS...AREN'T THEY THE SAME THING AS NUTS?
Actually, no. Peanuts (groundnuts), aren't nuts at all, but legumes - closely related to chickpeas or lentils.
I MIGHT BUY SOME ONLINE... HOW DOES IT WORK?
